Following on from the QMLS Ballon C'law for best play and MVP.... the FINAL award of the inaugural Ballon C'law awards will go to the COACH of the season.
With the award going to whom their rival coaches think has had the most impressive season of all.
Below is the list of the coaches/rivals with each coach/rival casting votes of the three coaches that they think is deservedly to be named QMLS XII COACH OF THE SEASON.
QMLS XI - COACH of the season.
Below is for the Best Coach Award with each opposing coach choosing their top three coaches.
To vote, each coach must write down their top three rivals IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE and post to either Riska or Mango with results to be announced once all coaches have had their vote. Coaches cannot vote for themselves.
Wayreth ~ Darklands Resurrected (Undead)
The QMLS XI joint Coach of the Season Winner had a faltering season and struggled to make it into opposition Endzones. However, the side managed to keep scores tight and was rarely beaten by 2 TDs. The defence is mean and shows improvement. A fine showing.
Pmaugey ~ Dwarverhampton Wanderers (Dwarfs)
The highly respected coach returned to familiar ground with QMLS veterans Dwarverhampton. Once more, every match was a tight affair and the tightly-knitted group of dwarfs looked to reach their first playoff spot. Unfortunately for them, they were beaten at the death in a closely fought decider. The coach nobly conceded the tie when a draw was enough to qualify when connection issues destroyed the match result. A gesture not forgotten!
Deadfool ~ EcuKhemrical Matters (Khemri)
The coach produced a series of incredible offensive displays that made them reach a maiden final. Indeed, we saw for the first time Chorfs retreating from the scrum! The coach has created an identity with the Ancient Ones that controls space and time on the pitch. A marvel, particularly with no statistically gifted ball-handler.
Sliverik ~ Golden Eternals of Chaqua (Lizardmen)
The Cold Ones were at times unplayable and produced a magnificent performance to smash a team run by the former Bognor Bograts coach 3-0. There were times when they looked set for a deep run in the playoffs but were undone by a miraculous TD. The coach is savvy with the tools at his disposal.
Cornelius/Scipio ~ Hashutites (Chaos Dwarfs)
No team has won more games, more trophies, and remained undefeated for as long as the Hashutites. The Chaos Dwarfs may have ridden more than their fair share of luck this season, but do not let that distract from the incredible feats of being perennial champions!
Citizenk ~ Kouillus (Skaven)
The debutante coach showed great promise with the new Skaven outfit. He had some tough boots to fill when replacing Bognor Bograts, but the coach has shown a clear love for crowd pushing and surfing! No less than 3 of the Final 10 Best Plays of the Season were resulting from the coach's keen eye. He's built an unstoppable Gutter Runner in Scalptuk and will always be in the hunt for glory. A great first season!
DF^2 ~ Lochaotic Rotten Posse (Nurgle)
The former OrcaLoca coach found a new lease of life with the rotting spawn of Nurgle. It was a fine match as the team looked more cohesive in controlling and inflicting damage. The side were the first-ever Nurgle team to embrace the QMLS and they made short work in qualifying for their first post-season run. It took some Elven magic to end their tournament - testament to an improving coach at the helm.
Longitudinal Thrust ~ LTs Metal Heads (Humans)
There is no better clutch coach in the QMLS. A must-win victory in a memorable encounter in the last game of the season against fellow playoff contenders adds to the coach's long history of pulling off stunning results. All he needs are bodies on the line. The season ended prematurely as they were pummelled by a hungry Khemri side.
Ted ~ Mega Smashers (Ogres)
Any coach willing to put their name on the line in managing a team of ogres must be taken seriously. His coaching ability and patience has to be admired. The season began with a shock win against Humans and they almost repeated the trick against Hashutites and Underearth Assassins. The team's antics are always entertaining on and off the field.
Mango Fandango ~ Mersey Scythe (Necromantics)
QMLS XI joint Coach of the Season Winner had a stuttering campaign with his new team, the Necromantic Mersey Scythe. Though he achieved just 1 victory, the team reached the Quarter-Finals and pushed the eventual winners to the very edge. The team shows potential.
Riska3000 ~ Underearth Assassins (Dark Elves)
The coach brought the oldest remaining QMLS Franchise to the semi-finals with arguably the most exciting ball-playing team this season. With a squad full of talent, the Assassins were capable of turning games on their head at a moment's notice. Many pundits remarked that the side was robbed of a final berth, but misfortune is part and parcel of the game. It's a huge improvement from previous seasons and made the rest take notice.
Jormir ~ The Warpstone-Union (Underworld)
It takes a certain type of coach to play the freakish skaven/goblin union. Madness. Genius. A sense of fun and blood. This coach has it all. The debutant coach showed touches of brilliance to get the unfancied Underworld within touching distance of a playoff spot. They didn't make it, but they made sure that they took players to the grave with them!
