We're It's the final week of the season and as many as 6 teams are fighting for survival in the greatest prize of Quiçama. Only the Darklands Resurrected are eliminated at this late stage of the campaign, testament to the difficulty in qualifying.
No team has scored more than 6 TDs in 4 games, a far cry from the rampaging days of Bognor Bograts, but there have been some incredible games in the build up to this showdown! In the MiddleLands Conference, the bottom 3 sides are competing for just 1 spot - currently occupied by Dwarverhampton Wanderers. But their next game is against playoff rivals LT's Metal Heads, a side known for their incredible escapades.
The picture isn't as clear in the Quiçama Conference as even the soaring Golden Eternals of Chaqua face elimination should they taste defeat at the hands of playoff chasing The Warpstone-Union. Both sides have suffered losses to key players, however, which opens up the possibilies even further! Meanwhile the fancied werewolves of Mersey were humbled last time out and will need to win as even a draw may not be enough!
Darklands Resurrected
Conference & Position : Quiçama, 6th
Final Game: EcuKhemrical Matters
The Scenario: With just one point all season, the Undead are the first and only team to be eliminated from playoff contention. Gallantry in Week 3 saw an unlikely consession, but perhaps a little more menace may be needed for next season. The ingredients of a power team are there!
Dwarverhampton Wanderers
Conference & Position : MiddleLands, 4th
Final Game: LT's Metal Heads
The Scenario: The Dwarfs are in a precarious spot occupying the final place. But their next opponents are just 1 point behind! The Wanderers lead the 3 horse race for the sole berth, but defeat will eliminate a QMLS Founder. The squad has continued to develop at a good pace, without loss to key players.
EcuKhemrical Matters
Conference & Position : Quiçama, 1st
Final Game: Darklands Resurrected
The Scenario: A storming season for the Khemri have seen them steal top spot with 1 game remaining. The formidable cage continues to impress, whilst the ever growing crew of undecaying skeletons continue to splash out damage, meaning that they will be very difficult to overcome.
Golden Eternals of Chaqua
Conference & Position : Quiçama, 3rd
Final Game: The Warpstone-Union
The Scenario: Two wins and two losses have put the pre-season favourites solidly in the middle of the Quiçama pack. The lizards are playing for more than just pride, however, as a resurgent Underworld outfit may just spoil the party and knock the GEC out! A draw secures a play-off spot, but a combination of GEC defeat and a Mersey Scythe win would mean that the much fancied cold-ones will be heading back to Lustria earlier than expected. The GEC head out with 2 inexperienced saurii, after first season campaigners fell to their demise against clawed-fiends.
Hashutites
Conference & Position : MiddleLands, 1st
Final Game: Mega Smashers
The Scenario: The reigning champions have overcome every obstacle, including a lethargic return from their incredible final success over Bognor Bograts. The team have steadily progressed to smash QMLS records, whilst suffering no ill-effects to the squad this season. The top seed is up for grabs and the Chaos Dwarfs require a point against the Ogres.
Kouillus
Conference & Position : MiddleLands, =2nd
Final Game: Underearth Assassins
The Scenario: QMLS debutantes, Kouillus, took a while to warm up and were facing an early exit, but back-to-back riotous shutouts have secured a maiden playoff spot. A draw against their next opponents will secure 2nd seed, whilst a blowout defeat combined with a Dwarfen win will see the Skaven drop to 4th and face the threat of Khemri.
Lochaotic Rotten Posse
Conference & Position : Quiçama, 2nd
Final Game: Mersey Scythe
The Scenario: The Nurgle side qualify mathematically due to the slugfest in the table not impacting them. Results elsewhere with not enable a sufficient number of teams for leap ahead! However, the Rotten Posse will want a higher finish to give themselves a more favourable draw in the First Round - if there is such a thing in the QMLS.
LT's Metal Heads
Conference & Position : MiddleLands, =5th
Final Game: Dwarverhampton Wanderers
The Scenario: The Metal Heads are straddled at the bottom due to their inferior head to head to fellow basement side, the Mega Smashers. Only a win against their next opponents can elevate their chances of a spot, but even that may not be enough and they will be hoping that the Hashutites do them a favour and not lose to the Ogres! Should the Ogres win, then it's curtains to the men in white.
Mega Smashers
Conference & Position : MiddleLands, =5th
Final Game: Hashutites
The Scenario: The early pace-setters find themselves in dire straits as they require a miracle to beat the reigning champions, Hashutites. Only a win can give them any hope of grabbing the 4th and final spot, however, even victory against all odds may not be enough as a Dwarfen win will end the Ogres' hope for this season.
Mersey Scythe
Conference & Position : Quiçama, 4th
Final Game: Lochaotic Rotten Posse
The Scenario: The Necromantics were considered a shoe-in for the playoffs, but a battering defeat at the hands of the GEC have left the new franchise on the brink of elimination. Their fate remains in their hands (or claws) but a win is the only result that guarantees a top four slot. Though ahead on points, a draw may not be enough as they will require last round's conquerer's, the Golden Eternals, to not lose against the Underworld.
Underearth Assassins
Conference & Position : MiddleLands, =2nd
Final Game: Kouillus
The Scenario: The talented squad of Dark Elves confirmed their place in the playoffs for the first time on the Quiçama Era with a game to spare! They have been involved in some high scoring games, but their next match against the speedy Skaven could be a record breaker.
The Warpstone-Union
Conference & Position : Quiçama, 5th
Final Game: Golden Eternals of Chaqua
The Scenario: It's Win or Go Bust for the ever exciting Underworld outfit. Qualification is possible but they will need to overcome a lizardmen side that returned to form at the right time as well as hope that the Mersey Scythe fail to win against the stubborn Rotten Posse. But like much of the Quiçama Conference, the Union have lost key players and find themselves underpowered. It'll take a shock win to qualify, but these little critters were built to do just that!
