ORCALOCA STUN BOGRATS
OrcaLoca v Bognor Bograts 1-0
Srifak
OrcaLoca produced a stunning performance to end the Bognor Bograts 100% record and in turn keeping their play off aspirations intact.
Srifak roars in delight after catching his name sakes elf like launch for the winner.
OrcaLoca began the game with their heavy hitters protecting ball carrier Srifak with the Bograts rat ogre Breaknut being the first victim as a thunderous fist from black orc Varag Arapcul removed Breaknut from the game with concussion in only the second phase, but as the rodents fell to the astrogranite one by one, it was emerging star runner Gruff Rhiyz-Jones who proved to be a thorn in the greenskins side as not once, but twice wrestled the ball away from the orcs and then to cap off a superb first half performance levelled ball carrier Srifak when embracing the crowd on the goal line to thwart the green horde again. But his efforts in the end proved worthless as in the final phase of the half and with the ball thrown back into play from the crowd after Rhiyz-Jones was flattened in retaliation to his end zone tackle, which brought cheers from the rodents thinking that the opportunity had gone for their foes, Srifak (no reliation) was on hand to collect the ball and with the time ticking launched the ball elf like into the hands of his name sake for a stunning 20 yard pass completion score which sent the observing crowd into delirium and leave the rats stunned.
"WHAT A PASS" was the yells from the crowd.
Srifak's perfect launch to his name sake was good enough to win any game
The continued euphoria in the crowd during the halftime break must have put off the Bograts medical staff as only 9 players were fielded to start the second half and the ravaged gnawers struggled to break down the green defensive wall that stood in front of them as the game became a touchline melee on the half way line with the Bograts finding no way through and they finally succumbed to the pounding from the orcs as Chiqui Arsol was floored by the impressive black orc Varag Arapcul allowing Srifak to collect the spilled ball and hide behind the mountain of green and as the time ebbed away, OrcaLoca held tight for a stunning victory, a victory that cements their position in fourth with only two rounds remaining.
Up next for OrcaLoca and their pursuit for a playoff spot is the counts of the Crescent Moon who have literally disappeared and with their last two games given as byes, OrcaLoca might just be set to have one foot in the post season, while the Bognor Bograts must pick themselves up from their first defeat of the season and prepare themselves for when the Amazone Prime come into town as they still have their eyes set on the divisional title before the business end of the season begins.
MVP - Srifak (no relation) An impressive orc drive seemed to have come to nothing until his stunning 20 yard touchdown pass which ulimatley won the game for the greenskins. Though on a sour note for OrcaLoca was the fact that a smashed collar bone caused from a wonder strike from vermin Vorite Wrangler in phase 15 might just be his last for the horde.
HEADS ROCK ASSASSINS.
LTs Metal Heads v Underearth Assassins 1-0
Mastadon
LTs Metal Heads defence proved to be the difference as they edges the Underearth Assassins to keep within touching distance of the final playoff spot while defeat for the Assassins leaves their playoff hopes in tatters.
Mastadon revels in the applause from the crowd after his match winning touchdown.
In a tight affair it was the Assassins defence in the first half that shone as the Heads offensive unit ground out the yardage with the dark elf defence, sometimes desperately, shadowing their every move and when it looked as if the Heads catcher Melvins would open the scoring after good work down the flank had opened the door, a lightning attack by the elves stripped the ball away, but a mix up in the Assassins ranks when a failed dump off to runner Hethmair was inadvertently caught by an unattended recipient, who then in the confusion gave the ball to the Hethmair, he rushed forward into the open pitch aiming for a priceless defensive score only to find himself exposed with the intended receivers for a break away pass failing to recognise the play and with that, the Heads swarmed around the ball carrier to close out the danger to leave the game all square at half time.
The second half however was the Heads, as their defence showed the Assassins how it’s done when a failed team up on Heads blitzer Dark tranquility left witch elf Gaenraearth helplessly out in the open, instead of baring down on goal having darted through a gap created by her offensive line, and the Heads made her pay as they sacked and collected the ball from the stranded witch elf and marched forward leaving a trail of prone elves in their wake to leave Mastadon to score the opening touchdown with two phases remaining of the match.
It was all or nothing for the Assassins in a game neither team could loose, but it was a step too far as blitzer Galddar collected the ball and rushed the Heads defensive line in a desperate attempt to score only to be tackled way short of the line by Amorphis leaving the Heads with a third straight victory and the Assassins with a third straight defeat.
Up next for the leagues in-form team Metal Heads and their pursuit of a playoff spot is the Darklands Resurrected where only victory will keep the race for fourth going into the final round of games while the Assassins, on a 3 games losing streak, face off against the improving lizards of Chaqua.
MVP - Mastadon, his defensive touchdown proved to be the winner in a tight affair
