The first games of blood bowl to be played on the fields of the middle lands for 16 years proved to be well worth waiting for. The stories from parents about the great players and teams are now not stories for the younger generation. Blood bowl is back and back with a bang from the opening game massacre by the orcs, the dwarven running game at its best, the luckless humans, the blood lusting vampires, the speed of the skaven and the brute force of the chaos dwarfs boiled down to a tenth and final round of scintillating blood bowl carnage, and the highest of all dramas was left till last.
The Darklands only went on and won a game, in which for their efforts were all massacred in front of a disbelieving crowd, only be resurrected before their eyes and the no show between the orcs and dwarfs in a repeat of the infamous Dodgers v Degenerates game back from Superleague I which was the beginning of a feud that still lasts to this day and then the biggest of them all, the prelude to the Superleague IX final between Hashutites and the Bognor Bograts in a game, with the final in their minds, turned into a fouling competition to see how many players could get sent off so to be fresh for the final, only to be told afterwards, that in-fact due to a horrendous error in the signed rules application, there would be NO FINAL, as the small print, in which no team actually read before signing, was that it was a 'league format competition only', so with a 2-0 victory, HASHUTITES were crowned Superleague Champions.
Pure drama to conclude what was 10 rounds of entertainment of the highest level.
As a TENTH season looms, both the Bograts and reigning champions Hashutites with be the teams to beat and with a further 4 new teams in the shape of a new human team (LT's Metal Heads) along with for the first time in the history of the middle lands, lizards (Golden Eternals of Chaqua) and amazons (Amazon Prime) will be entering the fray along with the famous dark elf team Underearth Assassins and the newly raised (literally) Darklands Resurrected (undead).
With the new teams, it bolsters the league to its biggest ever in a professional era to 10 in what should be a fascinating contest.
Will Hashutites win in consecutive seasons and follow the footsteps of the Chaos Knights?, the only team to do such a feat or will the Bognor Bograts gain revenge and put skaven back on top?
Will OrcaLoca and the Dwarverhampton Wanderers sustain a tilt at the top prize and will any of the new teams spring a surprise? All questions that will be answered as the now named Quicama Middlelands Superleague kicks of for a 10th time.
