EcuKhemricals Win Battle Of The Bones In Bloody Encounter

MEGA SMASHERS 0

Ecukhemrical Matters 1

Ptahsot Tabra

The Battle of the Bones produced a fascinating game of cat smashing the mouse that eventually favoured the Tomb Kings of Misr. Superstar goblin, Bomber Dribblesnot, was powerless as he watched his paymasters slug it out with a royal rumble.

There was little to stop EcuKhemrical Matters march to victory in the second half.

Having won the toss, the banaged undead opted to kick, a decision they felt they regretted as the first series of punches cleared 2 skeletons, including debutant Howard Sternum suffering injury from the very first punch, with another 2 soon following suit.

The mammoth ogre, Kargna da Boss, wedged himself through the Khemri centre, effectively splitting the defenders and allowing his titchy ball-handling comrade, Temn Windbreaker, to scarper safely down the left flank. His teammates, surprisingly, were obedient and followed instructions to make an impregnable screening fortress.

The match began perfectly for Mega Smashers as they removed debutant Howard Sternam from the first second.

The attacking drive soon faltered as the ogres, in turn, began to forget what they were doing and watched in bemuzement the shuffling of walking bones across the pitch to shut down the snotling threat. The ball carrier was in trouble. He survived 2 shots on the ball, but could not escape the 3rd hit from Cairo Practor, who popped the ball conveniently into the tackle zones of the defenders.

The half ended with a craftily executed surf of guard-specialist Martha. To the relief of the Mega Smasher's coach, no injury was sustained and the ogre was fit to carry on in the second half. With time against the skellies, the attempt to score a defensive takeaway was cut short.

The second half began much like the first, with the defenders on the line of scrimmage suffering a brutal mighty blow onslaught. It wasn't long before all the snotlings were removed from the pitch, leaving the 5 ogres to man the entire field. The ogres did contribute to their demise, however, as Martha tossed and killed a fling in an audicious attempt to attack the fumbled pick up!

The trick was again repeated, with better results! The snotling flung far into the backfield and ran just short of the ball. His contribution was to suffer a KO when attacking the ball.

The Ogres may have forgotten, but Howard Sternum didn't as he (almost) kills Martha.

Some clever repositioning of the Tomb Guardians prevented the ogres from regrouping and challenge for the ball as Throw-Ra, Ptahsut Tabra, comfortably trundled into the endzone to score the winner deep in the second half.

This was an encounter that the ogres will not forget, seeing 12 players removed, 6 of whom suffered injury and 2 deaths (including the ogre who was revitalised to full health). The Matters made ludicious use of the boot as they pressed their numerical advantage, just the 2 skeletons were sent off in a bad-tempered second half (not that the spectators cared). In return, the Khemri had 3 injuries, which all regenerated, and 2 KO's - a paltry return of violence for the Mega Smashers after a bright start.

Next up... It's the battle of the newbies as EcuKhemrical Matters face the Draaks, whilst Mega Smashers will be aiming to maim current league leaders and reigning champions, the Bognor Bograts.

Mango's MVP: Cairo Practor showed that bones too can be nimble as he was the key threat to the MEGA SMASHER's offensive drive. His industry was rewarded with the sack that set up the 1-0 win.
