Ecukhemrical Matters 1
Ptahsut Tabra
OrcaLoca 0
The ancient ones opened their seasons account against the greenskins, as a Ptahsut Tabra touchdown was enough to seal a narrow win in a tightly fought game which boiled down to a slip on the astrogranite, condemning the greenskins to their second consecutive defeat and giving the tomb kings their first ever QMLS victory.
With orc thrower Scinn’ Acoul collecting the high kick by the touchline, the horde from the off surrounded their ball carrier by the half way line and in a almighty scrum, these two heavy hitters began in earnest to exchange blows as the greenskins tried in vein to push back the marauders of Misr's defensive line, only to be repelled time and time again with Acoul moving left and right looking for any gaps and as the half progressed, the melee of hard hitting blows and counter punches continued with neither team gaining a real advantage, but with time progressing, the orcs tried to stretch the game with blitzer Bifulc making a break for it down the orcs left flank only for blitz-ra Ptahsut Djahor to floor his foe with a telling blow and the orcs again had to regroup, with the Khemri defence impressively not giving an itch and when the clock began to wind down, it was make or break for the orcs, as blitzer Guastaldino, burst through and made a deep run with Acoul launching the ball only for Blitz-ra Cairo Practor to pick off a sensational interception and with the hordes cage now in tatters, Practor, shielded by his defensive cronies, burst into life aiming for a take away touchdown before the half time whistle, only to be expertly taken down by the covering Mongee as the half finished goalless.
The second half saw much of the same, as both teams slugged it out again on the half way line, but this time, is was the OrcaLoca defensive line that stood firm and it was Ecukhemrical thro-ra Ptahsut Tabra's turn to move left and right behind his offensive line looking for the space and with every yard pushed by the tomb kings, the wall of greenskins re-organised to break the front of the boney cage, blow after blow was taken and given by both teams with Khemri skeleton Ahimen's shattered bones the highlight and with the relentless slugfest of a game reaching it's conclusion, the Khemri offence drive sprang into life, with another foray on the orc right flank coming to nothing, Tabra screened back to the orcs left and when both blitz-ra's Practor and Djahor burst through, it left the greenskins flat footed with Tabra following suit shielded by his team mates ahead of him, leaving the orcs desperately trying to recover only for Mongee, in an attempted last ditch tackle, to fall flat on his mug at the feet of Tabra, leaving the thro-ra the open field to score the decisive touchdown on the stroke of full time to give the khemri their first ever QMLS victory and leaving the greenskins with a second consecutive defeat.
The Khemri cheerleaders, Boney M, break out the chorus of "Tabra Cool" their surprise smash hit record in celebration of their scoring hero.
Up next…It was truly a game between two battering rams who never gave an inch against each other in a intriguing battle of pure brawn, but it was the patience of the Khemri and that little bit of luck that saw them snatch the three points and will be high in confidence at they face off against the biggest 'sluggers' of them all….the Mega Smashers. While the greenskins will have to dust themselves down to take on another team looking for their first points of the season, the Underearth Assassins, in what is now a crucial game with both teams looking to kick start their seasons.
MVP… Ecukhemrical's Ptahsut Tabra's patience was key to their first ever QMLS victory and even enjoyed the fact that an orc kissed his feet in honour before his match winning score.
