Darklands Cruise Past Smashers

Darklands Resurrected 2

Corpsemuncher, Marrowravager

Mega Smashers 0

The Darklands Resurrected continued their fine form to move to the heady heights of second in the league, for the time being at least, with a destructive job on the Mega Smashers as they cruised to a 2-0 victory. Beaten just once in six games, the Resurrected are showing signs of fine progression up the ranks.

'Freak of nature' Marrowravager roars in delight after scoring Darklands second TD

Helmet the Orator caught the kick off and short passed to the freak of nature, ghoul Marrowravager, to begin a series of expansive attack. The flair continued as ogre Mughead-Splitter was surprisingly palmed off by zombie Rigor Bone Marrow allowing Marrowravager the space to burst down the flank.

With fellow ghoul Corpsemuncher flying down the opposite sideline unopposed, the two combined with a fine elf like throw which gave Corpsemuncher the easiest of opportunities to score only for a quite sensational diving tackle by the slight figure of snotling Grot Mushroom to thwart the Darklands and when the diminutive snot reproduced the same skill in the next phase.

The crowd were up off their seats as his ogre team mates trundled back with the ball prone in their end zone, but Corpsemuncher wasn’t going to be thwarted a third time as he finally collected the ball and the touchdown before the lumbering giants had chance to clear the danger leaving the Darklands heading in at half time with a narrow 1-0 advantage.

The response from The Smashers could not have started worse as ogre Arm Discolator was dragged off by his feet by the medical team, assistants and 3 from the crowd, before the halftime whistle with a match ending injury leaving the ogres with only 5 fit ogres and 3 snots to start the second half.

A rare sight in the QMLS...a ball carrying a snotling.

But the Darklands front line were in no mood for charity and used their numerical advantage to keep their opponents at arms length and when the ogre with a very long name was flattened by the rampaging ex-ogre of Season IX, Dagg, the ball carrying snot Rikkitikki Shoebrush was left exposed.

Corpsemuncher took to swatting duties with apolmb to rid the snot of the ball. Only two ogres remained standing to muster an offense, but when the deftest of feet from ghoul Marrowgraver had glided through to take over possession, it was game over. The ogres, however, would not give up and launched snot Temn Windbreaker into the ghoul's path. Helmut the wight was their to end the little snots game leaving Marrowravager the simplest of touchdowns on the stroke of full time to keep the undead bandwagon rolling.

Up next... The Darklands, put their undefeated streak on the line against the formidable and reigning champion Bognor Bograts while the boneheaded Smashers will want to forget this game (and probably have already) and will take to the field against another set of walking corpses, when EcuKhemrical Matters come into town.

MVP - It’s easy to pick players from the winning side but to break the trend and probably surprise a lot of people along with being controversial at the same time, the MVP goes to probably the smallest ever player to win it and that’s snotling Grot Mushroom, who stopped the Darklands from scoring more with some fine ankle biting tackles throughout the game.
