Hashutites opened up a gap at the top to be within touching distance of a play-off berth by defeating their nearest rivals, OrcaLoca. It was a stellar display from the bull centaurs working in tandem that proved decisive in the tussle at the top.

The Bull Centaurs scored one touchdown apiece in a fine display.

The orcs were designated to kick the ball for the first half, and positioned themselves ready to make a stand. A short kick fell just behind the chaos dwarf lines, who scrambled to secure the ball in an impregnable cage. An epic brawl ensued with both sides trying to assert their physical domination.

From a position of relative safety, the situation turned into a headache for Hashutites as they tried to move down the left wing: bull-centaur Urkan Burnfoot missed his reception from Hejami's switch play, and the ball teetered on the edge of the field. Orc lineman, Mokbad, managed to recover the ball, but failed his dodge letting the ball fall once again on the edge of the pitch.

Urken Burntfoot's blitz through the screen was instrumental in setting up the first touchdown.

Debutant orc thrower, Srifac, plucked the ball from danger and found protection behind the reorganised orc line, however, Urken Burnfoot, the bull centaur, smashed through the screen to sack the ball carrier, forcing a fumble deep inside the orc's territory.

The dwarfs rushed to form a screen of their own that caused a major headache for their opponents. Orc, Ugroth, crushed the collar bone of guard specialist, Bradrakk Stonetoe, but the medics on the sidelines worked their mysterious ways to heal the collar bone - only to fracture Bradrakk's skull in the process!

Fellow bull-centaur, Marnak Darkstabber, scooped the ball and went out of reach for his opponents drawing first blood for Hashutites.

The sheer number of hits took it's toll on both sides.

OrcaLoca went on the offensive at the start of the second half, but a blitz at kick-off wrong-footed the attacker and allowed the bull centaurs to tie up the flanks. Suddenly, Srifac looked an isolated figure deep in his half with the bull centaurs' surprising burst of speed closing the gap to within inches of the goalline.

Srifac dodges his tackle and threw a poor thow that scattered, fortuitously, into the grateful hands of Black Orc, Ugroth Graffigole. who was then safe within a cage in midfield.

A royal rumble in the centre ensued as Hashutites turned up the heat. The orcs were removed with clinical precision as the claw of Fharikk, the Dwarf Blocker, came into it's element. Knock out after knockout whittled the greens to just 5 on-field players.

The Bull Centaurs' dictated the tempo to great effect.

Hashutites confirmed their impressive domination in the blocking game with the premature death of orc lineman, Mokbad, who was trampled by eventual scorer Marnak to also kill the contest with Hashutite's second.

The two teams go through the pain barrier for their Week 9 rematch. It's an all or nothing game OrcaLoca who must win both their last games, whilst requiring Hashutites to lose both their last game. It's a monumental task but it's not outside the realms of possibility in the Quiçama Middlelands Superleague.

Mango's Valuable Player: Fharlak Dyingfeet, use of his claw was key to pressurising the orc's frontline.
